Los elementos simbólicos que caracterizan el acto de celebración de Sant Jordi (la rosa y el libro) son sustituidos en una representación que expande sus significados más allá del arquetipo previsible. Un libro abierto quemado, unas gafas rotas, unas pequeñas formas recortadas en plomo, sobre un fondo rojo, permiten desarrollar y repensar vínculos con ciertos momentos de la historia pasada, reciente y/o futura. Lo que creemos inmutable y permanente, vuelve a cuestionarse a través de la imagen que anuncia la fragilidad de lo estable, invitando a la valoración de algo que por causas diversas puede sustituirse, mutar o desaparecer.

The symbolic elements that characterise the celebration of St George’s Day in Catalonia (the rose and the book) are substituted in a representation that expands their meaning beyond the predictable archetype. An open book, burned, a pair of glasses, broken, some small forms, cut out from lead, against a red background. Through these elements, we evoke and rethink links to certain moments in past, recent and/or future history. What we believe to be permanent, unchanging, is questioned once more through the image announcing the fragility of the stable, inviting appreciation of something that, due to various causes, may be replaced, change or disappear.
